The Coordinator for International Orientation & Outreach is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of a comprehensive orientation program for all new international students: pre-arrival, arrival to campus, and throughout their first year of study at IU Bloomington. The orientation program for undergraduate students is designed within the framework established by the Office of First Year Experience (FYE), and duties will be split between OIS and FYE according to area of expertise. In addition to Orientation, this position works closely with the Associate Director for International Student Life to provide cultural, co-curricular academic and social programming for international students at IU. The goal of this programming is student engagement and inclusion, both within the international student population and between the international and domestic students on campus, and it must incorporate the student voice. REQUIRED: Master's degree in a student affairs field and three years of experience in a student or event programming position. Must have proven familiarity with a large university environment; cross-cultural experience. Ability to multi-task. Ability to design and track a complex, multi-faceted program, including programming complex schedule design in Sunapsis, utilizing Canvas, and facilitating the design of short videos. Ability to utilize diplomatic skills with campus partners and students. Strong communication & public speaking skills, good judgment within defined parameters. Available to work evenings and weekends when necessary. High energy. Ability to apply principles of student learning outcomes and other student development theory to orientation and programming efforts. Preferred Qualifications Working Conditions / Physical Demands High energy required and the ability, especially during orientation, to move quickly from one on-campus location to another. Must have the ability to lift boxes of approximately 30 lbs or less during orientation.
