Provide professional career advising and instruction for Indiana University Jacobs School of Music undergraduate students. The role includes but is not limited to providing students with the necessary knowledge and skills in career development and professional self-discovery, resume and portfolio preparation, graduate college applications, job/internship searches, interview and audition preparation, and negotiation strategies. Mentor students as they identify, understand, and meet their long-term career goals by focusing on individual student success strategies. Develop and present informational workshops to students on professional skills, such as portfolio development, job interviews, auditions, and professional networking. Participate in summer programming including orientation and First Year Experience. Maintain up-to-date online career resources. Familiarize students with the resources available through the Office of Entrepreneurship and Career Development and the Office of Undergraduate Advising and Records and encourage and support advising by faculty and guests. Manage the RMS (Symplicity 'Career Portal', assist with alumni-student mentorship activity, and assist in the maintenance of the career-related areas of the Jacobs School of Music website. Research, gather, and present resources about organizations that provide professional opportunities to musicians and dancers. Communicate job and internship opportunities to students and faculty. Assist with program assessment, annual reports, and outcome data sharing with the Jacobs School administration and campus committees. Supervise student employees and volunteers. REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in career services, career advising, higher education administration, or other related field, with responsibility for program design, event planning, teaching, administration, and evaluation. Advanced knowledge of the music field. Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to handle confidential information, and a commitment to a collaborative team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access), Adobe Creative Suite 6 (Photoshop, Dreamweaver), Social Media, Relationship-Management Software, Video-Conferencing software. Ability and desire to learn new programs and software as they become available and necessary to the field of Career Development. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree.
