The School of Global and International Studies is seeking an Associate Director of Student Recruitment to join our team. The Associate Director of Student Recruitment develops, oversees and implements new recruitment strategies for attracting high-quality undergraduate and graduate students to SGIS. Responsibilities include recruitment for over 5 undergraduate degrees and 10 graduate degrees. Opportunity to play major role in shaping the student body and future direction of a new IU school, one very much at the center of the University's mission. Determines proper allocation of resources (human, financial, programmatic) for recruitment efforts. Creates extensive metrics for measuring success of recruitment efforts and determining future approaches. Works closely with department chairs, faculty, and academic and career advisors in SGIS to ensure school is offering the right kinds of curriculum and professional development opportunities to attract students. To achieve goal of vastly increasing undergraduate and graduate student bodies, the Associate Director works closely with Dean's office and senior school leadership. Works with Office of Marketing and Communications to develop full range of marketing materials, strategic communications, and events. Creates itinerary for visitors to campus, ensuring visitors meet with right mix of students, faculty, and staff. Selects, trains and manages a team of SGIS Student Ambassadors (graduate and undergraduate) to represent the School, meet with potential students, answer questions, and serve as public face of SGIS. Works closely with Alumni Relations to develop an effective Alumni Ambassador Program and leverage alumni network. Develops strong relationships with campus partners and represents SGIS at on-campus and off-campus recruitment programs run by Office of Admissions, Office of Enrollment Management, and Office of Scholarships. Chairs committee that selects recipients of scholarships and makes decisions regarding Direct Admissions. Helps develop new Living-Learning Center for IU students with a global focus. Meets with students and parents on a daily basis. REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in higher education (in an area related to student enrollment services such as admissions, recruitment, marketing, financial aid, program development and/or enrollment management) or in recruitment, program development or marketing in public, private, or non-profit sector. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of and passion for learning more about global issues, pertaining to culture, history, governance, politics, security, and/or economics.
