Seasoned hardwood firewood that I cut and split last year which is a mixture of Oak, Ash, Locust, Wild Cherry, Mulberry, and Boxelder. I started this season with over 1,000 ricks of firewood. I do not run out of wood, so you won't have to worry and finding another good wood dealer mid to late year. All pieces are split in a mixture of large, medium, and some small pieces for kindling to ensure the perfect fire. I cut all of my own wood and stack on pallets to keep off of the ground to remain dirt free and allow wood to properly season with the sun and air. I can show you the moisture levels in the wood. USDA recommends 15-20% as ideal, no more than 25%. Wood is average of 16?, you will never receive rotted wood or 22-24? long pieces you can?t fit into your stove. All of my wood is seasoned a full year to ensure it will be the highest quality and will provide the most heat potential. Unseasoned wood with high moisture content will create creosote, which in turn is what leads to low heat, as the water tries to escape, and worse a flu fire. The term rick is often misunderstood. I sell my ricks in face cords which has a true set definition of 16"x4'x8'. Three of these make a cord of wood. A rick can be any size, so be sure you are comparing apples to apples. I measure out a rick in front of my customers if they are picking up or if I am delivering, re-measure the wood again once stacked, to ensure you are receiving what you are paying for.
